Thankfully the colic went away and he was able to enjoy his birthday party today.
It was the Star Wars theme and Awesome Husband Mark and I had a BLAST planning it.
We made a fun Star Wars movie crawl into a movie for the invite;
I madly sewed nine Jedi youngling tunics for the kids;
Awesome Husband Mark made lightsabers out of pipe insulation foam & good ol' duct tape;
I attempted an R2D2 cake (friend Lizzy said, "Oh, cool rocket ship cake!") oh well I tried;
Awesome Husband Mark did the "training" of the young Padawans and even got them to use the force to levitate bricks - I kid you not - it was awesome;
The Okee Dokee Brothers played for everyone and as Thing One says, It was so cool we had a concert in our basement!
We were blessed to have family and friends with us to celebrate - even Bumpa and Grammy made the trip which couldn't have been easy for them since Bumpa is still in the nursing home. It was so great to have people drive out to see us and celebrate with our beloved Thing One.
Laying in bed tonight, surrounded by Bionicles (yes, he built all three that he got tonight), I asked if he also thought that it was so cool that we were listening to the Okee Dokee Brothers as he was falling asleep and that now we could imagine them playing in our basement.
Thing One said, Mom, it really happened, you don't have to imagine it.
Me: Oh, I guess.
I'll remember it then.
Love you buddy.
