my oldest

So this post was going to be about the BAD influence Thing One is for Thing Two. And at times, he truly is.
Thing Two is currently saying, and I quote:
I hate you.
Whatever.
You stupid.

Lovely. (just to clarify, that's my comment)

And Thing One has officially informed us that Thing Two's new nickname is Pickle. Kinda cute. He and his friend Jackson named him Pickle at the birthday party. Why? Certainly not to describe his love of the food, but because he was wearing a green shirt.

Anyway, I digress.

This post is about how amazing Thing One is. We had Kindergarten Roundup tonight. Why they do this in the spring is beyond me... maybe to get numbers figured out, but it has messed up my son's sense of exactly when Kindergarten is to start. He doesn't understand why school is not happening in the summertime.
I will remind him of this comment when he is older.
Also, reviewing bus rules to 5 year olds while they are taking their first bus ride and are amazed at passing their house or a train or whatever... certainly they are not listening.  I was freaking out about the safety issue of expecting a 5 year old to understand how to get on and off the bus on his first day of Kindergarten when as we were leaving the school, Thing One told us that we could not walk behind the bus.  I guess he was listening.

Even still, this post is not about that.

This post is about how truly brilliant he is. He is putting together a Bionicle to play with and I asked if I could help and he told me to put together the other leg, except that it had to match the one he made. Holy crap. Not sure if I could do it, let alone understand how his brain worked to create that in the first place. Amazed at the physics behind what he created on his own, I did it and took pictures to brag here.

Seriously, how does his brain work?
And I love the faces he gave in the background.
Mindful of all of the other crap he can do, I just hope he uses his skills for the good side.
