movie night

Tonight - and pretty much every Friday night we can - is "Movie Night."
Tuesdays are our "Pasta Night."
Mondays usually mean Mexican food.
Movie Night = early supper, early into pjs, and popcorn (and usually beer or wine for Maba). Sometimes we go and rent, sometimes we download from iTunes, but tonight Awesome Husband Mark decided to purchase the monthly subscription to Netflix for instant viewing of movies.
Their kids' selection is not great. If you are into 'Pro Stars,' then maybe... or other really old, not so great movies, then you might be ok. No immediate viewing of Kung Fu Panda or Ratatouille, etc.  The other struggle we have is that the kids want to watch Scooby Doo, but then usually Thing One is running out of the room or hiding behind a pillow because he is scared. I'm not up for the 2 a.m. wake-up call due to bad dreams. Special K continues to wake me through the night enough. (that is getting old, but I know it doesn't last forever so I kind of cherish it, in a bitter, sleep-deprived way)
Mark thought it would be ok to watch an old Jack and the Beanstalk, so that's what we told the kids we were going to watch. Thing One protested, and I kind of did too, so we looked again. We decided on an animated 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. It was pretty entertaining with where they traveled all over the world and all of the different animal creatures they saw. It finally ended happily (or happily ended) and Thing Two says, Can we watch Jack and the Beanstalk again?
Classic.
