busy fun day

We had a great day on Saturday - Valentine's Day.
We hung out around the house in the morning, enjoying cartoons.
No pancakes this a.m.; we usually do, but I think we are out of syrup.

Then after lunch we packed up and headed into the cities to the Wild Rumpus. Awesome bookstore.
We were headed there to watch The Okee Dokee Brothers play a small concert.  Thing One was incredibly excited, but turned very shy once he saw Joe & Justin. The kids and their parents kept rolling in and the bookstore was SRO in no time. About a fourth of the people there we knew.
The older siblings all arrived. Katie with one of the girls she watches, Casey went and got Luke from college and brought him, and then the roommates of the sibs arrived also. There were lots of hands to hold Special K and lots of eyes to watch Things One and Two. Joe & Justin played great music and the kids were involved, up and singing and dancing, and each time I spied on Thing One who was up front, he had a HUGE smile on his face. Very fun.
Soon the concert was over and we got Thing One ready to go for the night with Casey and Luke - a sleepover at Casey's house. How awesome are his older sibs? Thing Two had a million questions as to where he was going and where his brothers and sister were, which we had to keep answering and hope that it didn't turn to tears. Thankfully it did not.
Then off to see Bumpa at the rehab center and spend good time with him, Grammy and Auntie Lynn. Thing Two chased after the cat there and Special K had smiles for Grammy which was fun.
Then off again - grabbing Happy Meals (so healthy I know, and even though we asked for boy toys, I got two sweet Hello Kitty watches... I needed a new watch). We made our way to Auntie Linda's house to see them and Grandpa Bob who just got into town for awhile. They hadn't eaten yet, so Mark and I readied ourselves for Second Suppers and enjoyed a good meal with good wine and even better company. Linda and Lee have such great energy and such a welcoming home. And Grandpa Bob is always such a comfort to be around.
Thing Two entertained himself in the high chair (he didn't realize the great opportunity in the pork roast before him) by playing with toys he and his auntie got from the third floor toy closet while the rest of us ate a great meal.
Finally, it was late and time to go. Thing Two and Special K were asleep by the time we passed Tryg on the way to Hwy 100. Mark and I had a nice chat on the way home and I even fell asleep. I miss Thing One, but know he's lucky to have this time with his older brothers and getting a break from Thing Two. We're heading back into the cities today to Lee & Linda's to meet up again for more tasty food and great company.

Life is good. And of course I forgot the camera.
