Intentions are good. I had good ones.
I had plans to continue to update this blog and let family and friends in on the younger three's latest happenings.
Oops.
Long story short, I love/covet/need sleep too much to take time to do this consistently. Other than sleeping, I'm trying to balance work/home/volunteering/family, and not doing so hot at it. But I digress.
Right now, it's 2 in the afternoon on Good Friday. K is down for a nap. The boys are playing downstairs with friends. Mark is building a fence at the ball field and I have the computer to myself. I'll see how much I can slap up here until I'm called to mom duty.
So - here's the past four month, in pixelated short form:
December:
(ok. Seriously. Called to mom duty now. Fort building. I will never get a post up.)
December:
picking out a Christmas tree
playing in the snow with an Asplin boy... awesome.
Could we have had any more snow this winter??!
Good thing the kiddos love it.
just a random shot of K in December warming her toesies on the heater.
She takes after her momma who likes to be barefoot all winter long.
But brrr... we always have cold toes.
Stockings hung by the chimney with care.
Pic by T1 circa Kindergarten
Mesmerized by the snow globe.
Ahh... Santa Homer.
He always seems to "lose" his batteries.
There is definitely a love/hate relationship with this
Christmas decoration. It always manages to find
its way out of storage though.
I'll let you guess as to who loves/hates Homer.
(wrong... I love it. Truly.)
T1 asked for and got a chance to sing a solo at the Holiday concert.
Darn handsome, that one.
You have no idea how difficult it is for me to get him to
dress up for these events. He'd be happy in ripped jeans
and a Lego Star Wars t-shirt. But dang, he looks good.
Babysitter Aryn sharing gifts.
Way too kind of her.
She is part of our family.
K cries when she leaves us.
Snoozy Jims. Or Jim & Jill.
Horrible blurry pic of K in her Christmas Eve dress.
(I hate our camera sometimes, but yes, I know, it's the operator).
Yes, I did Christmas Eve Mass solo with three kids in the front row.
The only kids at Christmas Eve Mass.
But Mark and Katie were playing so... it was worth it.
Christmas morning.
(reminder... for 2010)
Yee haw!
More Christmas a.m. mess.
Love K's Ryan's Room dollhouse.
Best purchase ever.
Lego building with the broheem.
Grammy arrived and Christmas started all over again.
(yes, K had 2 Christmas dresses. Can't help it).
Nonny.
Lookin' good.
Don't you think??
Fort building.
Casey digging.
Mom & K down the luge.
T1 trying out the snowboard.
Hey... I have pictures of T1 snowboarding with pal AW...
I now realize I can't find them on iPhoto anywhere!!
Help Lizzy!!
Fort building continues.
Luke hard at work.
The boys loved it, but it gave me claustrophobia.
Jump to January:
Artiste K painting a canvas for Valentine's Day decorations.
Yes, this became all black.
Not my original intention.
(there I go with intentions again...)
@ Children's Museum in St. Paul.
(told ya this post would be random)
T2 lovin' the Lego displays there.
Though you wouldn't know it from his face.
He was ticked that I was making him turn away from playing.
Now you say, why didn't you go over to the other side to take the pic?
That place was so grossly crowded... if I would have left his side, I would
have lost the kid in the hoards of children there.
So gross.
I call that place a heart attack waiting to happen.
Or panic attack.
Take your pick.
February:Yes K is potty training. Should have started this last summer.
Like my blog.
But here we try, and per the pic,
you can determine for yourself how well she is succeeding.
This is what she thinks the potty seat is for.
Attractive.
(before you say gross, know that she has NOT used it by this point).
March:
T1 turned 7. Yippee!!
A Lego Bionicle party was requested.
Lots of boys=lots of chaos.
But he had great fun.
AW reading his bday note to T1 on the gift bag.
That is a keeper.
To my husband's annoyance.
Grammy playing fabulously with K.
Georgeous!
Could these guys get any more intense??!
April:
Found out our beautiful & talented Katie is going to
Yale School of Nursing for graduate school.
Awesome!
The major event of April...
Grandpa Bob turns 90!!
He had a big bash with all of the family there.
I am blessed with an amazing father-in-law.
All I have to say:
Tree... apple.
I am blessed.
The ladies from my side of the family enjoying cupcakes.
Grandpa Bob with his boys.
We stayed at a hotel.
(did I not take pictures at the water park?!)
T2 crashing... hard.
And yes.
Did I mention talented??
Katie with her band, The Dusty Porch Sisters.
Smart and talented and beautiful.
Enjoying the DPS at the Walker.
Can't go anywhere without a gun...
Finally, and this is not in any order, I think this is a pic from January.
T1 has been losing teeth left and right and left and...
And losing them too.
Two have disappeared.
One down his gullet.
One outside in the snow.
And no, the Tooth Fairy does not reimburse for those.
(meanie)
Ok.
So you are up to speed. Kind of/sort of.
Baseball has started. The weather here stinks. Once the sun starts showing itself, there will be more pictures of baseball, gardening, bike rallies, baseball, swinging, friends, baseball, etc.
Now... back at it. Friends are gone (that was crazy), boys watching PBS kids (during screen-free week I might add... which should not have occurred the week we were fighting the norovirus) husband back with food, K still sleeping (yay!) and I'm ready to open a bottle of wine and make supper. Love...
