snow day

Miraculously I bought snow gear for Thing One yesterday. Sure enough, we woke up this morning to the white stuff all over the place and still falling. Soon after brefkast (yes, you read that right, it's how it's pronounced in our home), I managed to get everyone bundled into coats, pants, boots, gloves and hats that relatively fit in order to go out and enjoy the freshly fallen snow. Note that Thing Two isn't the only one confused by this early snow... (and yes, it's trash day).

Did I mention I HATE winter coats? I'm actually even beginning to HATE winter, due to the dreaded winter coat. One loves to play outside in the snow, but history of the battle over getting gear on that continues with each child is enough to make this Maba lose it. Thankfully Two didn't put up too much of a fuss (only until it was time to go grocery shopping). His motivation was to get out there and start playing with One, who was already busy at making snow angels.

And believe it or not, except for some snow eating, the mittens stayed on!! That was an issue last year for Two, who despite my best efforts, did not believe in frostbite. Even K joined in on the fun while drowning in the winter gear I have to make do with for her. (Did I mention it was trash day? I had some awesome (shock!) pics of the three except for the WM truck in the background... photoshop anyone? And I have NO idea what this guy was doing... because he did nothing except sit there for 10 minutes).

K crawled around, ate snow, ate dirt (and hopefully not dog poop), crawled into puddles, soaked her mittens and didn't even care, crawled out of her boot and then it was time to go in, because she was dripping wet, as seen in some of these action shots.

It was a good day, though I hope the snow stays away for awhile, and the cold too. I'm just not ready for WWF with winter gear at 7 in the morning. I'm not sure I'll win.
