I enjoy reading other parents' blogs and yes, while they may be boring to many, it helps make the experience of parenting more human, allowing for more forgiveness of oneself and acceptance of the "good enough" ideal of parenting. I hope that over time my kids realize that Maba did the best she could and really it WAS good enough and they had a happy childhood. I know I did (thanks Mom and Dad).
Times I don't enjoy reading other parents' blogs:
when their child dies.
when their child is in the hospital.
when the parents are not happy themselves.
These are punch-you-in-the-gut kind of reads.
It's not unbelievable to me how my emotions get stirred by another's story (heck, I do therapy for a reason), but it is amazing how courageous these parents are to share their stories when their stories aren't so fun to read, let alone write. Writing is therapy. And I believe deep down everyone wants their story to be known and their emotions shared by others.
It is with hope that I share this link to MckMama's blog. I've been following her and her little guy for awhile. But I've been sporadic in my checking in on her blog due to my Mom Job and was saddened to see on Twitter that Stellan is struggling in the hospital right now.
Say a prayer. For that little guy. And for his Mom.
