sleep escaping me

Ok - if you haven't noticed... I have a new widget on the right side of the page. This is my Nike+ icon which displays the last runs I have done in prep. for the marathon in October. Yes, I have fancy pants shoes which record my mileage onto my iPod.

This is a blessing and a curse.

It's a blessing when some happy woman's voice is heard on my iPod saying, Congratulations you've just recorded your personal best in the mile! Or something like that.

It's a curse when this icon starts to state I've become a couch potato... when my father has DIED no less!! UGH. Tell Nike+ to develop some sympathy. Or at least a way to input circumstances beyond my control that has impacted my running. Good thing I didn't die and it was saying I was a couch potato. We'll have to remind Mark to remove that widget if that happens.

Anyway, sleep is escaping me tonight. I'll be lucky if the run happens in the morning. I go back to work tomorrow which does not thrill me but returns me to a somewhat normal state of being. I should be in top form. Ha. My kids have only a couple of weeks left with their Dad before he returns to work and they return to day care.

Little do they know.

I called day care today to set up the first few visits and confirm their schedule. It opened my eyes as to how much they've changed since they were last there. Two is potty trained - sort of. She wants to put pull-ups on him during quiet time. UGH! Good luck with that one... I can hear the screaming now. K has teeth, is drinking from a sippy cup, is crawling, pulling herself up to standing and is soon ready to take her first steps. Whoa. And I'm only going to be mostly paying for two in day care since One will be in Kindergarten. Now that's weird. Mark asked how I was doing with that idea. We'll see when it gets here, feels too unreal right now.

Overall, not counting the last two weeks, it's been a great summer. Hard to believe fall is almost here.

Upcoming events: Grammy visiting, room painting and switch (I will take before and after photos - ugh, I forgot! if we get our camera fixed! UGH! another story) and Red Rooster Day! (I HAVE to get the camera fixed...) Oh yeah, and I'm wanting a new pic for the top of this blog...
