one fish two fish

We took the boys fishing again tonight. Mark did this by himself another night earlier. Thing Two is currently down from bed and telling me that he was talking to me and on and on and on and on... he's having a hard time falling asleep, even without a nap.

I digress.

Ok, back from dropping Two back into bed, anyway, Mark brought the boys fishing the other night off of the dock and said it was utter chaos. One catching a fish, Mark taking it off, release, putting on another worm as Two reeled in a fish of his own and the cycle repeated itself. Catch, release, repeat. Over and over. All while keeping the two of them on the dock without hooking themselves or him. No one fell in. Success! They are hooked (no pun intended) on fishing.

Tonight, he asked if I'd come to watch the chaos (or maybe, actually help out a bit). We put K in the stroller out on the dock and prayed for no one to hook, fall off or throw each other in. Success again. Fish were caught, released and likely rehooked. I even managed to catch one as I accidentally dropped the hook into the water just on the side of the dock. Fastest catch I ever had. And this time we got pictures (see below).

Mark says the boys are turning into real fishermen with the stories they are telling of catching walleyes, BIG fish, etc. I just like to see them excited about a sport their Dad loves. And their Grandpa, and their Great Grandpas.

K is fighting sleep tonight as well. She is now on the sippy cup with little hits off of Maba when I can't take the crying and wanting look in her eye. Or maybe it's me that's having a hard time weaning her. I can nurse her at night until she's 2, can't I? Mark thinks she'll be graduating from HS by the time I wean her... which is gross to think about... I need to just get used to comforting her by holding her and doing only that. Tough to weigh that out... five minutes when I nurse her v. an hour if I just hold her. I know what K and I would pick.

Or maybe I do need to go on that Vegas trip with the HS girls as we turn the big 4-0 this coming year.
Hmmm...

(ugh... little Two feet. Again).
Good night.
