Sometimes scarily so, and sometimes hilariously so, but almost always, shake-your-head-in-disbelief so.
These moments happen frequently throughout the day and I try hard to remember them to blog about them, but usually forget in the midst of laundry, bill-paying, snack-preparing, breast-feeding, dog-letting out and in, working and sleeping.
Here are snippets from today. I'm trying to quick write them down while the boys build Lego creations and K is sleeping.
Thing One: Mom, does God know everything?
Me: Yes. Even before we do.
One: He knows what we're thinking?
Me: Yup.
One: How? How do you know that?
Me: That's what I was taught. He can do whatever He wants.
One: No he can't.
Me: Oh yes He can.
One: Like even turn a pretend dragon on TV into a real one?
Me: Yup. But He probably won't do that.
One: Why?
Me: Because that might be scary for some kids, don't you think?
One: Yeah. It would. But it also would be FREAKIN' AWESOME! (caps=MAJOR enthusiasm)
(yeah... my 5 year old said, freakin' awesome.)
I'm not sure who to thank for that one. Kids at day care? Luke? Who knows...
and he goes on to say, Mom I said freakin'. What does freak mean? (ugh...)
Thing Two: Yeah [Thing Two], you can finish my chocolate malt.
Me: Say thank you.
Two: Thank you.
Me: No, he needs to say thank you to you.
One: Thanks.
Me: Now say you're welcome.
Two: You're welcome.
Two: Maba, it makes me happy to say you're welcome.
(Awww... he is so so sweet).
